All Cardinal Hill Swim Team Programs are under the general supervision of the CHSRC BOARD MEMBER FOR SWIM TEAM ACTIVITIES (Mike Francese). The Head Coach receives guidance and direction from and is responsible to the CHSRC Board Member for Swim Team Activities. The CHSRC Board Member meets with the Head Coach weekly to review program progress.
The TEAM REP ( Pam Berg and Denise Butler) to the NVSL assists the CHSRC Board Member for Swim Team Activities in the day-to-day supervision of the summer swim program. They are the official spokespersons for our team in matters regarding NVSL, meet arrangements and conduct. A Team Rep will be present during all competitive events. Pat Hoyt and Michelle Boback will represent Cardinal Hill’s interests at all Developmental Meets.
The HEAD COACH (Mike Grill) is responsible for the overall program, but concentrates on NVSL Dual Meet swimmer training and strategies for NVSL Dual Meet competition. The program is aggressive and is aimed at winning the division championship. Additionally stroke refinement and improved conditioning will be stressed.
The ASSISTANT COACHES (Steven LeDuc, Alyssa Knauf, Caroline Kehoe and Eric Barna) will assist the Head Coach as required in practices, swim meets and social functions. They will work with the developmental program, which includes responsibility for all 6, 7, and 8 year old swimmers and those 9 & Over swimmers who are swimming in Developmental Meet competition The developmental program is aimed at stroke development, improving competitive skills and fitness.
JUNIOR COACHES are volunteer Cardinal Hill Swim Team members, 13 years or older who will work under the direction of our Coaches. They will help predominately with our younger swimmers. Asst Coach Alyssa Knauf is our Coordinator for the junior coaches.
MINI CARDINAL COACHES are senior Cardinal Hill Swim Team members usually 16-18 years old who will work with our Swim Coaches and our Mini Cardinal Coordinator. They work with the youngest swimmers, teaching the basic strokes.
The SWIM TEAM ADVISORY COMMITTEE is chaired by the CHSRC Board Member for Swim Team Activities, and consists of the Team Rep, the Coaches, and the parent volunteers heading swim team committees. This Advisory Committee provides the Board Member with information, communications from the membership, and recommendations for program improvements.
